​On April 1, 1973, Mr. Robert S. Kirkpatrick, Sr. opened the doors of Kirkpatrick Management Company (KMC) with the belief that providing excellent customer service with a personal touch would create a successful business. Over four decades later that belief has contributed to KMC growing from a three customer company to a portfolio that includes over 250 customers.

Our dedication and understanding of this unique market led to the development of our Michigan Division. We are committed to this region and our local customers. Our team is aggressive and performance-driven; focused on providing the highest level of service to customers and owners. The key to the successful growth of the company is the continued commitment to providing excellent customer service with a personal touch.

Realizing that an educated employee base is essential to the success of any business; Kirkpatrick Management Company (KMC) is an active member of Community Association Institute (CAI), Midwest Association of Housing Cooperatives (MAHC) , National Association of Housing Cooperatives (NAHC), and Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), Indiana Apartment Association (IAA), Property Management Association of Western ​Michigan (PMAWM), and United Condominium Owners of Michigan ​(UCOM). In addition to attending classes conducted by our affiliates, Kirkpatrick Management Company (KMC) employees are teachers and certified instructors. Kirkpatrick Management Company (KMC) also provides specific classes for our employees to keep them abreast of issues facing the association management industry.

  • Scott C. Kirkpatrick establishes S. C. Kirkpatrick Builders building single-family, custom homes throughout Indianapolis.

     

     

    • 1946

  • Robert and Patricia, high school sweethearts, begin their lives together, a marriage that lasts 58 years and produces seven children and twenty-eight grandchildren.

     

    • 1973

  • Robert and Patricia Kirkpatrick open Kirkpatrick Management Company with three accounts: Three Fountains (East) Cooperative, Harvard Square Cooperative and Roxbury Arms Association, which to this day remain a valuable part of the company’s current management portfolio.

  • Patricia T. Kirkpatrick, the company’s beloved matriarch passes away at 84 years old in Indianapolis, IN. 1925-2012

  • Kirkpatrick purchases a commercial office/warehouse building in Clinton Township affirming its commitment to its Michigan team and management accounts. “KMC has a very bright future in Michigan!” – Rob Kirkpatrick
